1993 S/S Grunge Pear Vest

Playful pear print vest by Marc Jacobs for Perry Ellis. From 1993 S/S ready-to-wear collection that resulted in Marc Jacobs (29 at the time) being fired from Perry Ellis.
Known as the Grunge collection this was the era where Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love dominated the radio waves and MTV, as to what inspired Jacobs to push through this collection. Jacobs lost his job but this was only the beginning, the collection was highly celebrated by the masses and Jacobs soon landed at Louis Vuitton.
